Redwood City, Calif., August 15, 2011 – Trilliant, a global Smart Grid communications leader in delivering solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations and renewable resource integration, today announced the renewal of its strategic relationship with PowerStream, the second largest municipally-owned electricity distribution company in Ontario.
Trilliant has been selected by PowerStream to provide Unit Smart Meter System and Services for residential, and commercial and industrial (C&I) use. For PowerStream, smart meters are an important area of focus given that they form the backbone of the utility’s Smart Grid infrastructure.
Unit Smart metering involves measuring the energy use of individual suites in multi-occupant buildings. This allows unit owners to be accountable for their own utility use and costs, benefiting the
owner, building and distribution system as a whole.
“In part, PowerStream’s growth and success over the past four years has been because of our efforts associated with smart metering and intelligent energy deployment,” said Edward Chatten, PowerStream’s senior vice president Smart Grid & Strategic Support. “Trilliant has played a strategic and technological role in helping PowerStream deploy our smart meter solutions. By extending our relationship with Trilliant, we expect to continue to provide our customers with cost-effective and environmentally responsible means for managing their electricity services.”
Trilliant will provide PowerStream with engineering design services, project management, installation, commissioning and data management services through its in-house managed services business. Trilliant is working with Quadlogic Corporation as a technology partner in this opportunity.
“Trilliant is pleased to continue working with PowerStream, said Steven Lupo, Director of Trilliant Energy Services. “With a high degree of emphasis on Quality Management, we are able to ensure a
seamless and enjoyable customer experience for PowerStream and its end-use customers. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to provide PowerStream with technologies that
help their consumers efficiently manage and consume energy better.”
