Meter Reading

Meter reading is the most basic function of any smart metering system, and the first thing Trilliant’s customer achieve in typical deployments. The meter-to-cash process is critical to utilities, and establishing early success in implementing this process provides an immediate benefit for utilities.

However, Trilliant enables Smart Metering applications far beyond basic meter reading.

Full meter data access

The Trilliant system is built to support full access to all meter tables, objects, functions, and profiles.  The platform flexibility Trilliant developed with our early CellReader products have become core to our philosophy around metering: the job of the Trilliant platform is to provide reliable, secure, cost-effective access to all the capability offered by the meters. This approach has led Trilliant to provide full support for a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial, single phase and polyphase meters from a variety of vendors.

High performance at scale

Providing daily reads is a big step forward for many utilities that have traditionally read meters no more than once per month.   Moving to 15-minute interval data once per day is a big step forward. Real-time visibility into the distribution network

Deploying a smart metering system gives utilities the chance not only to ensure an effective meter to cash process and to enable new customer-focused applications, but also to get real-time visibility into the distribution grid.  This capability is transformative for utilities, providing a real-time view of consumption patterns, distribution system loading, voltage and power quality variations, and power outages.
